Swap Central!!

Hello again,

It certainly was swap central here on the run up to On stage local, the week before On stage I was also involved in a charity afternoon tea to raise funds for the Blossom appeal in memory of a lovely fellow demonstrator who was taken too early by breast cancer.  Together with other demonstrators and friends we made over 600 cards and sold a lot of cake and tea to raise over £1000, a fantastic achievement I'm sure you'll agree.

I was luck to have some help from my lovely daughter to stamp and assemble my swaps , without her I don't think they would have happened!

I used a selection of stamps to decorate these wooden hearts, unfortunately in the rush to get them finished and packaged I forgot to take a photo of them all, this one uses a stamp from Dandelion wishes, which also made it into the next catalogue, I also used Let it Ride and Beautiful You.
The backs of the hearts were also decorated with some of the great motivational quotes we have in our stamp sets, and to package them up I used the envelope maker board and our wonderful papers to make envelopes.  If you are like me and tend to collect papers, store them carefully and stroke them lovingly, but don't actually cut them up and use them, bespoke envelopes is a great way to thin out your stash before it becomes the subject of a hoarding documentary on channel 5!!!!  (I have been threatened by my children that they will write in!)

And this is what they looked like when they were finished, in various designer series papers.  I hope those of you who received them were pleased with them, feel free to give me a shout out if you got one!

That's it for today, I'll be back soon with that sneak peek of new things to come soon, until then..... happy stamping.

On Stage Swaps

Hello again,

Today I thought I would share some of the wonderful swaps I received from other demonstrators while I was at On stage Local, swapping is a great way to get to talk to other demonstrators and to get ideas for cards and 3d projects.  We don't have to swap and there is no set number, but I try to make 50 swaps to take with me and then I come home with lots of lovely inspiration to share with all of you.

These are the cards that I received while at On stage, there are some lovely designs, definitely a few that I will be using to inspire me in future classes! If you recognize your swap thank you for swapping with me.

These are a few of the 3d items that I received, again lots of inspiration................

And finally these, I absolutely loved all the swaps I received, its like receiving lots of wonderful gifts!  My fellow demonstrators are definitely a talented bunch!

That's it for today,  I'll be back next time with some pictures of the swap I designed and maybe a sneak peek at some of the new stamps we will have available from 4th June.

Happy Stamping

Staying with us ........

Today I'm sharing the other 2 cards that we made in my April class, this time I'm pleased to say that the stamp sets I've used will be carried over to the new catalogue which launches on 4th June.

This card uses Let It Ride and I'm really pleased that this has made it into the new catalogue, I've paired some of the images with a few from Waterfront, which also made it into the new catalogue to make this scene. By changing the colours in this scene the horses could be on grass or in the water, and this stamp also works well for a shadow technique, (watch this space).

The last card that we made in the April class was a floating frame card.

There are lots of video tutorials available for this technique, it looks very time consuming but it's actually very easy to assemble, I've used the flowers from First Frost, the greeting comes from Delicate Doily, so another reason to purchase that set before it disappears for good!

I hope you liked these cards, and as usual if you would like information on how to make them or on the products used, please don't hesitate to drop me a message.  I'll be back soon with some of the lovely swaps I received at on stage.

Happy stamping

Going, going, gone......

Its a week now since I got to share the fun at On Stage Local in Telford, where we got to see the new catalogue, meet up with other Stampin Up! friends and most importantly have a play with some of the new products coming to you soon.
The new catalogue goes live on 4th June, so I thought I would take the opportunity to remind you that any items that you have been thinking of adding to your stash that won't make an appearance in the new catalogue should be snapped up now. You can view the retiring list on the Stampin Up! website or drop me a message to let me know what it is you would like.

With that in mind today I'm sharing some cards that we made with the delicate doilies stamps and dies which I'm sad to say will not be featuring in the new annual catalogue. This stamp set and dies are so versatile and I've had great fun creating projects with them

Firstly this is quite a simple and quick card that we made with the stamps from delicate doilies and the die cut elements are from the Well Said dies, which I'm glad to say will be carried over to the new catalogue.

With this card we stepped it up a bit, using the doily dies to make faux laser cut paper for the background, and adding a greeting on a stitched circle and using one of the circle dies in the doily pack yo make the border.

That's all for me today, don't forget to check out the retiring list, and I'll be back soon with some more cards.

Happy Stamping

Trio of cards!

Its been crazy busy here at the Crafty Yellow Camper, some of you may know that I have another job working with lots of lovely small people during the day, and crafting is my relaxation and release from the stresses and strains of today's busy world.  We have been celebrating Mothers Day here in the UK and that has involved lots of crafting of another kind and hasn't left me much time for crafting the Stampin Up! way!
As I've been so quiet over the last few  weeks I though I would share this fun fold card with you, I have cased instructions from  Jan at Jan B Cards, and made this for a lovely colleague who I work with for her anniversary.

It was quite simple to make using the score board and trimmer, in fact I had so much fun making it I made more....!

This was the card I made for my wonderful Mum for Mothers Day, It uses a bit of contraband, as I don't own the Best Birds set and my Mum loves birds so I had to think outside the box!

And this completes the trio of cards, this card is going to a wonderful lady who gives up her time every Friday to come and make snacks and tea for us and all our small people, she is truly an inspiration to us all!

If you would like to have instructions for these cards or details of any of the items I've used to make them, please drop me a line.
That's all for now, I'm off to finish preparations for my 2 classes this weekend.  I'll be back next week to show you what we have been up to.

Happy crafting
